摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and imaging method capable of properly improving a dynamic range of an input image with a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises: a gain correcting means (2) for multiplexing a first imaging signal (Xa) by a correction gain (G<SB>k</SB>) and outputting a second imaging signal (Xb) corrected for each pixel; an exposure control means (10) for determining a first exposure value (E1) for making an average value (APL) of the first imaging signal (Xa) coincide with a prescribed target value, further correcting the first exposure value (E1) by using a gain correction value (Kd) on the basis of the maximum value (Gmax) of a correction gain, calculating a second exposure value (E2) and controlling exposure with the second exposure value; and a correction gain determining means (15) for determining a correction gain (Gk) for each pixel on the basis of a result of filtering brightness components of the first imaging signal (Xa) and the maximum value of the correction gain. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
