<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for performing offset adjustment of a gamma correction curve particularized to low density by independently performing gradation rising position adjustment and low density side gray balance adjustment respectively. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with: an outputting means 001 for preparing and outputting a chart for rising position adjustment and a chart for gray balance adjustment; a reading means 003 for reading the density of each patch from each chart; a correction curve calculating means 100 for individually calculating a rising offset value for adjusting a rising position from density and a gray balance offset value respectively; and an output adjusting means 004 for adjusting gradation characteristics of an image forming means 005 on the basis of a gradation correction curve for wholly correcting preliminarily provided gradation characteristics, a rising position correction straight line including a rising offset value as a parameter, and a low density gray balance correction curve including the gray balance offset value as a parameter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
