PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel optically active biaryl phosphorus compound which can be simply produced without an optical resolution step, which is a step almost indispensable in a conventional method. SOLUTION: An optically active phosphorus compound is provided which is produced by, for example, a preparative method shown by reaction formula (A) (wherein Z is a divalent group such as oxygen or methylene; R' is an alkyl group or the like; R" is an alkoxyl group, an alicyclic group, an aromatic group, or the like).
