摘要	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method and image forming apparatus, whereby the compressed state of toner on a developing roller is made appropriate and image disturbance can be prevented. SOLUTION: The image forming method using liquid developer uses: a developing roller 54K to which liquid developer regulated to a fixed quantity by a toner supply roller 51k is transferred; and a compression roller 55K disposed opposite the developing roller 54K. The compression roller 55K has the function of applying an electric field to the liquid developer on the developing roller 54K, thereby compressing its solid content to the side of the developing roller 54K. In addition, the liquid developer transferred onto the developing roller 54K is recovered, and the recovered liquid developer is reused via a concentration adjustment means. A current flowing in the developing roller 54K from the compression member roller 55K is measured when the apparatus is started. Until the current value reaches the prescribed range, the liquid developer on the developing roller 54K is recovered. The recovered liquid is adjusted by the concentration adjustment means.
