<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an inkjet recording medium which enables manufacture of the inkjet recording medium being excellent in any of gloss, image quality, cockling preventing properties and ink absorbency, prevented from cracking and breaking and excellent in a surface strength and moreover which has a reduced number of processes and thus excels in productivity. <P>SOLUTION: The inkjet recording medium is manufactured by sequentially providing on a substrate an undercoat layer which is mainly constituted of a polymeric material (except a polyvinyl alcohol resin) having film forming properties and a topcoat layer which is mainly constituted of an inorganic particulate pigment having an average particle diameter of 700 nm or less, contains the polyvinyl alcohol resin and has water-based ink accepting properties. The manufacturing method of inkjet recording medium has a process for applying on the substrate the polymeric material having the film forming properties and the coating for forming the undercoat layer which contains a material crosslinkable to the polyvinyl alcohol resin and a process for applying the coating for forming the topcoat layer while the undercoat layer is in a wet state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
