<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an image forming apparatus of such a type that a document is inserted from the front of an apparatus main body to open an image forming section by a necessary amount in the structure of opening the upper cover of the image forming section by the so-called clamshell system even when a document table interferes with the image forming section. <P>SOLUTION: The upper end of the image forming section 6 pushes up the whole document table by rotating the top end portion 8a of the document table 8 about a table rotating shaft 9a as a support point, so that the image forming section 6 can be still opened by a predetermined angle. In this state, the top end portion 8a of the document table 8 is greatly opened to make visibility excellent. In other words, when the image forming section 6 is opened by the clamshell system and interferes with the document table 8, the top end portion 8a of the document table 8 is rotated and moved as well, so that the opened part by the clamshell system of the image forming section 6 can be opened up to the necessary amount, to facilitate the work of jam processing, cleaning, or the like. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
