PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a programmable display that is connected with a programmable controller and capable of displaying a sequence program and its comment, and a display system that is capable of suppressing the consumption of an internal memory of the programmable controller, and displaying the sequence program and its comment securing the consistency of the correspondence relationships between them. SOLUTION: The programmable display 10 includes: a storage means 11 capable of retaining explanation descriptive data; a control program acquiring means 13 for acquiring a control program from an external control device 20; an explanation descriptive data acquiring means 14 for selectively acquiring the explanation descriptive data corresponding to the acquired control program from the external control device 20 and/or the storage means 11 based on a predetermined selection criterion; and a display means 15 for displaying the acquired control program and explanation descriptive data.
