PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light quantity adjusting device of compact and simple structure, having a shutter mechanism and a light quantity adjusting mechanism or the like. SOLUTION: The light quantity adjusting device includes: a bottom board 11 with an opening 11a through which luminous flux passes; and a blade for adjusting light quantity 5 driven by a drive device to adjust the opening amount of the opening 11a of the bottom board 11. The drive device is equipped with: a cylindrical magnet 1 divided in a peripheral direction and magnetized in different poles; a shaft 2 fixed in the inside diameter part of the magnet 1 and composed of soft magnetic material; a bobbin 5b arranged on one side in the shaft direction of the magnet 2; a coil 3 wound round the bobbin 5b; and a stator 4, at least one outside magnetic pole part of which is arranged to be opposed in a radial direction on the outer circumference surface of the magnet 1 and which is excited by the coil 3.
