PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a post-processing device and an image forming system capable of forming notch parts for searching sections at end parts of paper sheets having images formed by an image forming device. SOLUTION: In this image forming system 100, the image forming device 1 identifies a section number of input image data based on a preset first page number of each section, composites a section header image in a position corresponding to the section number of the input image data, forms the composite image on paper and sends it to the post-processing device 2. The image forming device 1 determines the position to form the notch part at the end part of the paper having the composite image formed thereon corresponding to the section number of the input image data, and sends the position to the post-processing device 2. In the post-processing device 2, based on instruction information of the notch part position sent from the image forming device 1, a notch means 25 is moved, so as to form the notch part in the position instructed from the image forming device 1 at the end part of the paper carried in from the image forming device 1.
