PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a turbine blade which is required to cope with an increase of a power generating demand by increasing the blade width or length of the turbine blade or its airfoil to increase working output of each blade, having improved resistance to low cycle fatigue to which the turbine blade is subjected during the operation of a turbine. SOLUTION: The gas turbine airfoil (100) includes a root section (110), a separate extension section (120) attached to the root section (110), and a joint (130) disposed between the root section (110) and the extension section (120), the joint (130) including at least one of a mechanical interlock and a metallurgical bond (230).
