Method and device for determining movement vectors

The method involves determining image blocks (12, 13), by which motion vector (V11) assigned to another image block (11) partially proceeds. Modified motion vector is produced depending on motion vectors (V12, V13) assigned to the image blocks (12, 13). The modified motion vector is assigned as motion vector to the latter image block (11). The average value of the motion vectors (V12, V13) of the initial and end image blocks is formed for production of the modified motion vector. An independent claim is also included for a device for generating a motion vector to an image block of an image.
