System for managing a group of gaming machines

The system has a recording terminal (8) including a unit for receiving a game amount and for opening a game session by delivering a passive medium e.g. game ticket (12), carrying a personalized identical code e.g. bar code, to the player. The unit records the amount correlated to the code, in a player's account. A game machine e.g. fruit machine (4), has a reading unit to read the code and available amount in correlation with the code and to maintain the available amount based on gains and losses of the player. A control unit allows or limits the game based on specific rules. An independent claim is also included for a method for managing and controlling a course performed by a player.
