A contents display method and a terminal using the method are provided to display plural contents so that the contents can be distinguishable according to each type of the contents, therefore a user can easily search and select the contents. A display unit(130) displays at least one of contents. A controller(120) controls the display unit to display the at least one of the displayed contents according to each type of the contents, by using at least one of letter colors and background colors of the contents. An input unit(110) receives selection for one of the at least one of the displayed contents. The controller sets at least one of the letter colors and the background colors according to each type of the contents, by using an input signal.
