A cassette player having an MP3 player is provided to allow the player to be used for learning foreign languages more effectively. A cassette player having an MP3 player(5) includes an MP3 insert groove(7) formed on the top of a case(1) to allow the MP3 player to be detachably inserted, a switch portion(9) capable of controlling a tape recorder and the MP3 player, a display portion(4), a memory(8) to record a sound input from a microphone, and an input/output port(71). The display portion displays data of the tape recorder and the MP3 player, which are played by the operation of the switch. The input/output port is installed on the inside of the MP3 insert groove to allow the MP3 player to be mounted thereon. The cassette player includes an auxiliary connector, which is connected to the MP3 player.
