An apparatus for opening and closing a door of a vehicle is provided to smoothly open a rear door by disposing a fluid cylinder and a four-joint link so as to reduce the rate of change of load applied to the fluid cylinder. An apparatus for opening and closing a door of a vehicle comprises a fluid cylinder(11), an input link(12), a float link(13) and an output link(14). A first end of the fluid cylinder is hinged to a fixing part of the vehicle. A first end of the input link is hinged to the fixing part and is connected to a second end of the fluid cylinder. The float link has a first end hinged to a second end of the input link. The output link has a first end connected to a second end of the float link and a second end connected to a door(20) of the vehicle.
