An imaging device comprises a photographing optical system 12 which forms an object image on an image-receiving area of an image pick-up device 14. The pick-up device generates image-pixel signals from the object image formed on the image-receiving area. The image-receiving area is inclined by a given angle, which is equal to, or more than, a predetermined angle satisfying a given equation, relative to a direction perpendicular to an optical axis of the photographing optical system such that one end portion of said image-receiving area corresponds to an image-point of an object at infinity or a remote distance, and the other end portion of said image-receiving area corresponds to an image-point of an object at a closest focussing distance. One end portion of said image-receiving area corresponds to the image-point of the object at the remote distance. |
