The vehicle part to which the acceleration sensor is attached has a holder (3) that tapers in the direction of insertion of the acceleration sensor. The housing of the sensor has at least one wedge-shaped protrusion (4) which is received in the holder. A locking mechanism has one part (5) on the sensor which latches with another part (6) on the vehicle to prevent relative movement between the acceleration sensor and the vehicle part.
