An image processing device processes image data containing distortion of an imaging optical unit obtained by capturing an optical image from an object via the imaging optical unit giving a distortion. A region selection mode setting unit (13b) selectively sets a first region selection mode for selecting a selection region indicating a partial region of field of view by using an orthogonal coordinate system to the field of view expressed by the image data and a second region selection mode for selecting a selection region expressing a partial region of the field of view by using the polar coordinate system to the field of view expressed by the image data. A distortion correction unit (13a) distortion-corrects the image data corresponding to the selection region selected in the first or the second region selection mode set by the region selection mode setting unit (13b) and obtains distortion-corrected data. A data output unit (13d) outputs the distortion-corrected data.
