A washing machine is provided to manufacture a shaft protection unit easily by using the same material as a flange and assembling a shaft to the flange while molding the flange. A washing machine comprises a tub(11), a drum, a shaft(18), a flange(34), a seal(44), and a shaft protection unit(35). The shaft protection unit is extended from the flange to cover the outer surface of the shaft which is in contact with the seal. The flange and the shaft protection unit are integrally formed by aluminum molding. The shaft is inserted to the flange and the shaft protection unit while molding the flange and the shaft protection unit. |
