A RAID(Redundant Array of Independent Disks) device and a Galois field product computation method are provided to reduce a time needed for Galois field product computation, and reduce the number of stages and repetitions of parallel Galois field product computation. A plurality of data storage units(10-1~10-14) divide data and respectively store the divided data. A plurality of parity storage units(10-15~10-16) store first parity data obtained by combination of the divided data and second parity data, which is obtained by multiplying a prime of a Galois field by the divided data in a parity generation equation, using a product result, and operating the parity generation equation. A RAID controller(12) divides the data, operates the first and second parity data, and stores the first and second parity data to the parity storage unit. The RAID controller obtains a result multiplying the data by the prime of the Galois field.
