A sterilization package 10 comprises a sealable envelope 11 with a window 12 through which sterilization can be effected by gas or radiation. The envelope is 11 made of material that does not transmit the gas or radiation, such as silver foil. The window 12 comprises material which does so transmit, such as transparent PVC or LLDPE or other synthetic resin. The sterilizing medium may be ethylene oxide gas or gamma rays. A tag 14 inside the window may indicate that sterilization has occurred by changing colour. The package may contain goods such as cosmetics, medical supplies, foods and drinks. |
