A roaster having a height adjustable upper plate is provided to allow a user to easily adjust the height of the grill to evenly roast the meat, and prevent frequent troubles of the roaster by employing a relatively simple mechanical configuration. A roaster(1) having a height adjustable upper plate(6) comprises a first rotary shaft(11) installed on a sidewall of a roaster body, a driving chain gear(10) installed on the first rotary shaft, a second rotary shaft installed on the sidewall of the roaster body, a driven chain gear, and first and second chain gears that are installed on one end of the driven chain gear, a third chain gear installed on the other end of the second rotary shaft, a third rotary shaft installed on the sidewall of the roaster body, fourth and fifth chain gears installed on one end of the third rotary shaft, a sixth chain gear installed on the other end of the third rotary shaft, a first chain connecting the driving gear to the driven gear in a shape of closed loop, a second chain connecting the first chain gear to the fourth chain gear in a shape of closed loop, a cover(1c,1d) installed on the sidewall of the roaster body to make one end of the first rotary shaft exposed to the outside, a fitting pin fixing plate(31) secured on the outside the cover, having a plurality of support holes(32) along its circumference, a rotary plate(34) having a stopper(33) and a handle(34a) on the front side and secured on one end of the first rotary shaft to come in contact with the fitting pin fixing plate, first, second, third, and fourth lifting members(40-43) installed on edges inside the roaster body, each having an end removably inserted to the upper plate, and a pulling member whose one end is connected to the second and third chain gears and fifth and sixth chain gears, and the other end is connected to each lower side of the first, second, third, and fourth lifting members. The height of the upper plate can be adjusted from a heating source by lifting and lowering the first, second, third, and fourth lifting members by turning the handle, which allows the second and third chain gears and fifth and sixth chain gears to be rotated to wind and unwind the pulling member. |
