A method for processing an image is provided to shorten the prediction mode determination time and increase the image reconstruction speed, thereby improving the efficiency in processing of the image. A method for processing an image is suitable for processing an image divided into a plurality of prediction blocks. In order to perform the method, firstly, the sum of squares of differences between pixels within the prediction blocks and corresponding peripheral pixels under a plurality of prediction modes is calculated(S410). Secondarily, the prediction modes for reconstructing the pixels within the prediction blocks are determined according to the result of the above first step(S420). Third, the pixels within the prediction blocks are reconstructed according to the result of the above second step(S430). |
