An electric double layer capacitor is provided to have excellent thermal stability by reserving an electrode part in a forming product and have improved productivity by being easily assembled. An electric double layer capacitor(10) includes an insulating forming product(15), a body part(11), a metallic cover part(12), and an electrode part(23). A receiving groove(17) with an opened upper portion is formed in the insulating forming product. The body part includes a metal plate(16) serving as a bottom of the receiving groove and has a first terminal projecting to an outside. The metallic cover part covers the receiving groove and has a second terminal(14) extending to a lower side and bent inward at a lower edge. The electrode part includes two polarizable electrodes and a separator. The two polarizable electrodes and the separator are in contact with the bottom of the receiving groove and an inner surface of the cover part, respectively.
