The method involves analyzing individual forecasts for a contradictory statement, where the individual forecasts describe a value for a defined future system or process status and statistical distribution. The individual forecasts have different weightings and noise factors. The contradictory individual forecasts are eliminated and the remaining individual forecasts are aggregated into an optimized overall forecast while taking the noise factors into consideration. An independent claim is also included for a system for determining an optimized forecast based on an individual forecast for the control or regulation of an operative system and/or process.
