In a vehicle navigation apparatus, displaying an enlarged view of an intersection within a guide route is suppressed when a value N associated with a corresponding passing direction of the intersection exceeds a learning reference value. When the value N is not more than the learning reference value, the enlarged view of the intersection is displayed on a display unit. When a deletion operation is received while the enlarged view is displayed, the value N is incremented by "1." In contrast, when an enlarged view display operation is received while the enlarged view is not displayed, the value N is decremented by "1."
