A printer driver and a control method thereof are provided to realize color of a printed color image with the closest color to original color of the printed color image in a color printer by converting color information with a printer ICC(International Color Consortium) profile instead of a printer driver ICC profile when both ICC profiles are different. A printer driver ICC profile storing part(162) stores an ICC profile of a printer driver(160). A driver controller(161) determines whether the ICC profile of an image forming device(200) is identical with the ICC profile of the printer driver, and converts color information of a printing target by using the ICC profile of the image forming device when both ICC profiles are different. The driver controller informs a user that the color of the printing target can be different from prints if the color information is changed and enables the user to select one of both ICC profiles when both ICC profiles are different. A printer controller(250) controls a printing unit(230) according to a printing command transmitted by the printer driver in order to print a color image on a paper based on printing data and color image.
