A DRIVING DEVICE AND METHOD OF A BLDC MOTOR

A driving device of an BLDC(BrushLess DC) motor and a method thereof are provided to increase a maximum driving speed of the BLDC motor by remarkably decreasing a counter electromotive voltage of the BLDC motor. A driving device an BLDC motor(10) includes a rectification unit(12), an inverter(11), and a microcomputer(20). The rectification unit converts AC(Alternating Current) power into DC(Direct Current) power. The inverter converts the DC power into the AC power by switching a plurality of power switches and supplies the converted AC power to the BLDC motor. The microcomputer detects a position of a rotor and controls to perform phase conversion before a terminal voltage of the BLDC motor exceeds 1/2 of an output voltage of the rectification unit when a driving speed of the BLDC motor reaches a rated speed.
