A display apparatus, a fan unit, and a method for controlling the speed of a fan are provided to controlling the speed of a fan according to an attribute of a displayed image, thereby minimizing power consumption and noise. An image-processing unit(10) processes an image signal. A display unit(20) displays image based on the processed image signal. A fan unit(30) has a fan for discharging heat generated in a display apparatus to the outside. A controller(50) controls the fan unit so that a rotation speed of the fan is controlled according to an attribute of the displayed image. The attribute of the image comprises at least one of a luminance difference between adjacent pixels included in the image, a resolution at which the image is displayed and a brightness of the image. A storage unit(40) stores an image property which displayed on the display unit as well as a rotative velocity value of a fan which corresponds to the image property.
