A system and a method for providing transport information are provided to construct an integrated transport information service aimed at various service users including the handicapped, the old, and the weak by providing barrier-less paths for destinations. A system for providing transport information comprises a user terminal(100) and a transport information server(300). The user terminal stores personal information for a user. If destination information is inputted from the user, the user terminal transmits the inputted destination information to the transport information server together with the stored personal information, and obtains transport information corresponding to the personal information. Based on the personal information transmitted from the user terminal, the transport information server judges whether or not the user is a handicapped person. If so, the transport information server confirms the user's disability type, searches for transport information according to the confirmed disability type, and provides it to the user terminal.
