A method for displaying the combination of a cord word and a stream in an MIMO(Multi Input Multi Output) communication system is provided to reduce the number of combinations of the entire cord words and streams, thereby reducing the bit number of information. When the number of antenna is 4, the maximum number of streams is limited by 4. Accordingly, when the number of cord word is 1, the possible streams are 1,2,3,4 and when the number of cord word is 2, the possible streams are 2,3,4. As a result, in the MIMO communication system, the maximum number of cord word is 2 and the maximum number of antennas is 4. When the number of antenna is 2, the maximum number of streams is also limited by 2. Accordingly, when the number of cord word is 1, the possible streams are 1,2 and when the number of cord word is 2, the possible stream is only 2. As a result, in the MIMO communication system, the maximum number of cord word is 2 and the maximum number of antennas is 2. The combination of the cord word and the real stream shows many differences according to the multiple antenna system.
