BACK LIGHT UNIT FOR KEY PAD OF PORTABLE TERMINAL

A backlight unit for a keypad of a portable terminal is provided to supply light of high luminance to keypads by using a small number of light sources by supplying the light to the keypads through a light guide panel. A backlight unit for a keypad(11a) of a portable terminal includes a keypad film(11), a light guide panel(12), a light source, and a lens member(14). The keypad film has the keypad with characters for key input. The light guide panel is disposed on a rear surface of the keypad film and emits light to a plane light source at a keypad film side. The light source is disposed at least at one edge of the light guide panel and emits the light to a side. The lens member is disposed between the light source and the edge of the light guide panel, and induces and inputs the light emitted from the light source to the light guide panel.
