An apparatus for a map display of a navigation with an RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) reader function and a method thereof are provided to improve user convenience by allowing the user to simply input a destination without complicate operations. An apparatus for a map display of a navigation with an RFID reader function includes a map book(200), an RFID reader(10), a controller(20), a display(40), a transmitter(70), and an output unit(50). The map book shows buildings with an RFID tag. The RFID reader reads RFID information from the map book. The controller reads a specific building matched with the RFID information from the map book and shows the building on the display. The transmitter receives GPS(Global Positioning System) information or map information matched with the RFID information from a network. The output unit outputs the GPS information with speaker.
