A method of driving a plasma display panel and a plasma display device are provided to suppress a line flicker by driving even-numbered and odd-numbered display lines according to a TDM(Time Division Multiplexing) scheme. A PDP(Plasma Display Panel) device includes a control circuit(110), a driving circuit portion(150), a PDP(10), and a text information determining unit(120). The control circuit includes a display data controller(111), a recognition circuit portion(113), and a panel driving controller(114). The PDP includes display cells, X electrodes(31), Y electrodes(32), and address electrodes(33). The driving circuit portion includes an X driving circuit(151), a Y driving circuit(152), and an address driving circuit.
