Coated polyester film based on titanium catalysed polyesters

Biaxially oriented polyester film (I) comprising a substrate layer (S) coated with a heat-sealable, peelable (on amorphous or crystalline polyester) layer (D), in which (A) layer (D) contains a polyester with aromatic and aliphatic dicarboxylic acid units (B) layer (D) and at least the directly adjacent part of the substrate (S) contain titanium-catalysed polyester with a titanium content of 1-150 ppm . An independent claim is included for a method for the production of (I) by making a single- or multi-layer substrate film by (co)extrusion, stretching the film in two directions at right angles, heat-fixing the film and coating at least one side to form layer (D).
