ETHYLENE-ACRYLATE COPOLYMER AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF

A method for preparing an ethylene-acrylate copolymer is provided to obtain an ethylene-acrylate copolymer having a polar comonomer content equivalent to a conventional copolymer obtained by using a Lewis acid, by using a metal oxide capable of being recovered and recycled by a physical process. A method for preparing an ethylene-acrylate copolymer comprises: (a) a step of polymerizing an ethylene monomer and an acrylate comonomer in the presence of a metal oxide. The metal oxide is at least one selected from oxides of alkaline earth metals, transition metals, Group 13 and Group 14 metals. The method further comprises a step of recovering the metal oxide from the polymerization mixture obtained from step (a) by using a physical process.
