<p>A touch screen device and a control method thereof are provided to offer user convenience capable of using a touch screen as a mouse pad by setting a touch screen to a touch pad mode when the touch screen is used by connecting to an external monitor through a line-out mode. An LCD touch screen(10) extracts a position of a touched part and displays data. A microcomputer(30) outputs the data to the LCD touch screen in a touch screen mode, and performs a function by extracting a position value of a user touch when the user touch is detected in the LCD touch screen. The microcomputer disables display through the LCD touch screen and enters a touch pad mode according to a line-out mode set by the user selection, and performs a touch pad function according to the user touch when the user touch is detected in the LCD touch screen. A video encoder(40) forms a display screen corresponding to resolution of the LCD touch screen in a touch screen mode, forms the display screen corresponding to the resolution of an external monitor(50) by connecting to the external monitor through a line-out port in the line-out mode.</p> |
