An online goods auction method using a stock index and a recording medium thereof are provided to secure public trust by using various kinds of stock indexes officially commented on the Internet and induce participation in auction by selecting a priority failed bidder as a successful bidder among the same failed bidders. A plurality of bidders(70) input a bidding number by participating in online auction for presented goods, and a server(60) extracts a predetermined number from more than two indexes representing a stock price. The server generates a bidding number by combining the extracted number in predetermined order. The server determines whether the same number as a winning number is found among the bidding numbers. The server selects a priority bidder as a successful bidder when the same number is found, and the server selects the priority bidder among the closest numbers as the successful bidder when the same number is not found. The server delivers goods to the selected successful bidder. The indexes are selected among KOSPI(Korea Composite Stock Price Index) index, KOSDAQ(KOrea Securities Dealer Automated Quotations) index, Dow-Jones industrial average, NASDAQ(National Association of Securities Dealer Automated Quotations) index, Nikkei index, and JASDAQ(Japan Association of Securities Dealer Automated Quotations) index.
