A time search control method of an optical disk is provided to find a search position, using a video object unit serial and a greedy algorism so as to search the desired time accurately and rapidly without using video title set time map table information. A time search control method of an optical disk comprises the steps of: inputting search time after inputting a time search command signal(S1); comparing a first calculation time of comparing the search time with the present play time, with a pre-set time(S2,S3); searching search time with a video object unit serial when the first calculation time is within the predetermined time(S4,S5); searching the search time by a greedy algorism when the first calculation time exceeds the predetermined time(S6); comparing a second calculation time of comparing time differences between a first temporary point and a search point corresponding to the search time, with the predetermined time(S7); and searching the search time by the video object unit serial when the second calculation time is within the predetermined time(S8).
