When a user sets heating cooking conditions such as a cooking course and performs a start operation (S11, S12), a main control section judges whether induction heating is included or not in the current and subsequent operations in an operation course thus set (S13). If induction heating is included, improper load detection processing is carried out and an error is informed if an improper load is detected in a cooking compartment (S14-S16). If an improper load is not detected and induction heating is not included in the current and subsequent operations, heating operation is started (S17) and the system returns from (S19) to (S12) when interruption of operation is designated before heating is ended. Consequently, improper load detection processing is carried out even when the operation is restarted if induction heating is included in the current and subsequent operations. In a heating cooker performing induction heating and high frequency heating simultaneously or alternately, abnormal heating can be prevented when a small kitchen utensil such as a metallic spoon is placed in the cooking compartment. |
