The method involves generating anode gases from fuel using a reformer (2), where the fuel contains hydrogen. An electric current is generated from the anode gas and cathode gases, using a fuel cell (3), where the cathode gases contain oxygen gas. An oxidizer containing the oxygen gas is conveyed opposite to a flow direction (30) through the reformer, where the flow direction is present for generating the anode gases and/or electric current during a normal operation, and for regenerating the reformer during a regeneration operation. |
