发明名称 TRANSPORTADOR PARA PIEZAS DE TRABAJO ALARGADAS
摘要
948,844. Endless conveyers. BUNDY TUBING CO. Dec. 6, 1961 [March 9, 1961], No. 43663/61. Heading B8A. Apparatus for assembling fittings F on to ends of elongate workpieces W includes an endless conveyer 60 for the workpieces and a hopper 298 for the fittings. Conveyer and drive.-Two coplanar endless steel bands 62, 64, each has its upper edge notched 66 to receive individual workpieces. Portions 74, 76 of the bands are spaced apart when passing through feed, assembly, and working stations, but otherwise move in side-by-side engagement. Rollers 100, 102, 104, 106, 108, 112, 114 maintain the spacing of the bands and a track 98 guides the bands side-by-side. A wheel 70 has projecting pins 72 which engage in the band notches 66, the wheel being intermittently turned by a ratchet wheel 122 engageable by a pawl 130 on a vertically reciprocated arm 132. The arm is reciprocated by a lever 134 and a cam-following roller 136 and is normally biased toward the ratchet wheel by a solenoid 181 acting on a lever system 158, 164, 174. In the event of a malfunction, the solenoid is de-energized and the pawl arm 132 moves to the dotted line position of Fig. 2, due to the action of a compression spring 176, and drive to the wheel 70 by the ratchet and pawl 122, 130 is discontinued. Meanwhile, a lever 194 carrying a second pawl 188 which has half the effective stroke of the pawl 130 is rocked upwardly by a cam 198 and the ratchet wheel 122 is moved through half its normal increment of rotation. Wheel 70 and conveyer bands 62, 64 are thus advanced one half-step and then come to rest since, although pawl 188 continues to reciprocate, its downward movement is insufficient to clear the succeeding tooth of the ratchet wheel. After correction of the malfunction, the solenoid 181 is re-energized and the ratchet wheel is again intermittently rotated by the pawl 130. Feeding.-Workpieces W are deposited on a feed table 78 and are controlled by a rockably suspended plate 230. The workpieces cascade over a rounded lip 228 and are supported by the tops of the conveyer bands 62, 64, until the lowest workpiece drops into a pair of notches 66. Should the workpieces become jammed between the plate 230 and the feed table, a switch 246 is operated by the plate swinging away from the table and drive to the bands 62, 64 is discontinued. A permanent magnet 256 between the bands holds the workpieces firmly in the recesses 66. Fittings F are supplied from a hopper 298 through a tube 300 to a hollow-end transfer lever 302, Fig. 10. A piston-rod 312 on a hollow piston 314 contained in a pneumatic cylinder includes a pin 320 which slides within a sleeve 322. Pin 320 and sleeve 322 initially advance together, the pin probing within the fitting F to support it and the sleeve pushing it over the projecting end 84 of the workpiece. The sleeve continues to advance when the pin end engages the end of the workpiece and a blast of air admitted through a passageway 324 blows the fitting against the conveyer band 62. Before a workpiece is advanced to a first work performing station, it is passed between a pair of skewed rollers 406, 408 which urge the workpiece inwardly so that its free end engages against a stop in correct alignment with a tool for performing a first tube flaring operation on the workpiece. In the next cycle the conveyer bands carry the workpiece to a second tube flaring station. Discharging.-After leaving the second station, the workpieces with their fittings F are carried to discharge forks 94 which ramp the workpieces upwardly out of the notches 66 on to a discharge table 96. Specification 920,732 is referred to.
