Topical formulations

The present invention relates to formulations based on a w/o emulsion for topical application containing a stinging agent and microparticles effective for follicular closure, so that the composition has a reduced stinging potential and an improved feel. The formulations are intended for use as a cosmetic or pharmaceutical formulation. The invention also relates to the use of such w/o emulsions for preparing cosmetic and pharmaceutical topical formulations, and the use of microparticles in a formulation for topical application comprising a w/o emulsion.
