The spring fitting for holding down the brake lining comprises a single spring for a pair of opposing brake blocks. The spring has a contact at one end for pivotally resting against a first fastener eyelet on the outer periphery of the brake block, and a contact at the other end which is held down pressed against a second fastener eyelet on the outer periphery of the block. The spring fitting holds the lining down evenly. The fastener also includes a locking bracket intended to extend transverse to the lining circumferential direction.
