METHOD OF ESTIMATING MOTION VECTOR USING MULTIPLE MOTION VECTOR PREDICTORS, APPARATUS, ENCODER, DECODER AND DECODING METHOD

A method of estimating a motion vector using multiple motion vector predictors, an apparatus, an encoder, a decoder and a decoding method are provided to reduce information amount to be transmitted to the decoder by estimating available partitions and signaling estimated information of the partitions. A method of estimating a motion vector includes: calculating an average of pixels included in a current block and an average of pixels included in partitions adjacent to the current block(S300); selecting the current block and similar adjacent partitions as predictors of the current block(S301); and estimating a motion vector of a partition selected in step 301 as a motion vector of the current block(S302). The reason to calculate the average of the pixels in step 300 is to select adjacent partition having the same spatial similarity as that of the current block.
