A mobile terminal and an operation method thereof are provided to output high-quality sound signals through a speaker by adjusting the bias for an output signal when a call signal or an audio signal is outputted and reducing noises in case of switching signals through a switching part. A mobile terminal comprises a control part(2), a speaker(70), a bias control part(50), and a switching part(60). The control part outputs either a call signal or an audio signal. The speaker converts the call signal or the audio signal into a sound signal and outputs the converted signal. If the other signal is outputted while either the call signal or the audio signal is being outputted, the bias control part outputs a control signal to intercept the previously outputted signal if the bias voltage difference between the two signals is below a reference value. Based on the control signal outputted from the bias control part, the switching part intermits either the call signal or the audio signal between the control part and the speaker.
