A data broadcasting update method and a data broadcasting receiver are provided to inform a user of data broadcasting update by displaying a message box and update the data broadcasting selectively at a necessary point of time, thereby enabling the user to more conveniently and efficiently watch the data broadcasting. A data broadcasting update method comprises the following steps of: receiving data broadcasting and displaying the received data broadcasting(S201); receiving update information of the data broadcasting(S202); displaying the update information of the data broadcasting on a screen, and receiving a user command for whether to update the data broadcasting(S204,S205); and updating or un-updating the data broadcasting displayed on the screen according to the received user command(S206,S209).
