An umbrella or a parasol using a principle of a folding type fan is provided to connect the support ribs of a shield in the same method as that of the ribs of a folding type fan and to collect or unfold the support ribs. Support ribs(110,100) of a shield and strings(300) connected to rotation ends are used to rotate the support ribs in a horizontal direction and to unfold and fix the shield. A hook part is fitted into a protrusion portion of the support rib in a vertical direction on one end of the support rib. The support ribs come into contact with each other in a vertical direction. Nuts are coupled to ends of the protrusion portions to prevent separation of the support ribs. The hook part is horizontal but the other part is slant downwardly at a predetermined angle. |
