A mobile vehicle navigation method and an apparatus thereof are provided to generate road guide information base on the moving distance of the vehicle and vehicle position on the matched map. A mobile vehicle navigation apparatus includes a GPS receiver(11), a storage part(13), a map matching part(12), a controller(14), a display part(15), and a speaker(16). The GPS receiver receives a GPS signal from a satellite and generates position data of a navigation device based on the GPS signal. The storage part stores map data. The map matching part matches the position data to map data stored in the storage part and outputs matched map information. The controller outputs road guide information. The display part displays a road guide map included in the road guide information. The speaker outputs road guide sound information.
