POLARIZER AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY HAVING THE SAME

A polarizer and a liquid crystal display having the same are provided to improve quality of an image in front and lateral directions at a low cost by including a support film with a shift compensation function. A liquid crystal display includes a liquid crystal panel(100), a first polarizer(210), and a second polarizer(220). The liquid crystal panel includes first and second substrates(110,120) between a liquid crystal layer(130) to face each other. The first polarizer is attached to the first substrate and includes a first polarizing film(212) and a compensation film(213) interposed between the first substrate and the first polarizing film. The second polarizer is attached to the second substrate and includes a second polarizing film(222) and a first support film(211). The first support film is interposed between the second substrate and the second polarizing film and includes an ultraviolet absorber.
